A 3D printed pumpkin that tracks your GitHub Actions credits
In this GitHub Podcast clip, Martin Woodward shows how a jack-o’-lantern can serve as a physical indicator of GitHub Actions usage.
How the pumpkin signals quota changes
The custom 3D-printed pumpkin combines a microcontroller with addressable LEDs to display the account’s live GitHub Actions quota:
- As credits drain, the lighting changes color.
- When credits renew, the pumpkin plays an animation.
The result is a Halloween-themed hardware alert that makes quota changes visible away from the screen. The project’s open-source code is available on GitHub for anyone who wants to build their own.
