The preview release of enhanced governance in OneLake catalog equips Fabric administrators with a unified experience to monitor, secure, and optimize their organization’s data estates. Fabric admins access actionable insights and management tools directly within the catalog, ensuring they have timely information to strengthen data governance.

Govern Tab Overview

  • Immediate overview of governance status, including:
    • Number of items, workspaces, capacities, and domains
    • Distribution of items by type
    • Workspaces grouped by capacity
  • Contextual recommendations help improve governance posture, such as:
    • Setting governance policies
    • Increasing sensitivity label coverage
    • Assigning domains or tags
    • Enabling endorsements to certify and promote item discoverability
  • Each recommendation includes an overview and step-by-step remediation instructions.

  • ‘View more’ expands to three focused areas:
