Selected Claude, OpenAI, and Gemini Copilot Models Are Now Deprecated

As of October 23, 2025, several AI models have been deprecated across all GitHub Copilot experiences, including Copilot Chat, inline edits, ask and agent modes, and code completions. Developers and administrators should update their workflows to use the recommended alternative models.

What Administrators Need to Do

  • No Removal Action Required: Deprecated models will be automatically removed; no manual intervention is needed.
  • Support: Enterprise customers can contact their account manager for assistance or questions.
